Gallen (elbow) completed a 33-pitch bullpen session in Arizona on Tuesday, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.
Gallen was able to complete the throwing session without any issues, successfully taking the next step in his recovery from right elbow inflammation. The right-hander isn't eligible to be activated from the 60-day injured list Sept. 7, so the Diamondbacks may opt to have the 31-year-old toss at least one more bullpen session before organizing a minor-league rehab assignment.
Burnes (elbow/teres major) threw a 30-pitch bullpen session in Arizona on Tuesday, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.
Burnes has been sidelined for the entirety of the 2026 campaign while recovering from Tommy John surgery and a subsequent teres major strain that shut him down from throwing in early June. The right-hander appears to be on track for an early September return to action with the Diamondbacks. Manager Torey Lovullo was asked about a potential return by Sept. 1 for Burnes on Tuesday, stating, "maybe a very short time after that."

Making his way back from the second Tommy John surgery of his career, Martinez has made two scoreless rehab appearances with Single-A Visalia, posting a 3:1 K:BB over two hitless innings. According to Gambadoro, Martinez is likely to be activated either Sunday in Atlanta or Monday in Boston. The 25-year-old could reclaim the Diamondbacks' closer job if he looks sharp, though Martinez may first be eased back in with some lower-leverage appearances.

Soroka didn't pitch deep enough into this game to earn the win, but it was a promising return after he missed nearly two months due to a glute strain. The right-hander threw 47 of 77 pitches for strikes, so a bit of inefficiency likely cost him the win in a game where Arizona was never threatened. Prior to the injury, Soroka was having a resurgent season -- he's at a 2.92 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 83:20 K:BB through 86.1 innings over 16 starts. He's tentatively projected to make his next start at Atlanta, though he may still have at least a slight workload limit.
Perdomo left Monday's game against Colorado due to left knee soreness.
This appears to be a minor issue for Perdomo, who went 0-for-2 with a walk and a run before exiting. He'll presumably be re-evaluated Tuesday morning and can be considered day-to-day. Manager Torey Lovullo stated after the game that Perdomo is fine, but he could get the next day or two off as a precaution, per Jose M. Romero of The Arizona Republic.
