  • Packers' Trey Smack: Fellow kicker being let go

With the Packers moving on from Brandon McManus, per Adam Schefter of ESPN, Smack and Lucas Havrisik are the team's current kicking options.

Though Havrisik appeared in three regular-season games with the Packers in 2025, Smack is presumably the favorite to emerge as the team's top kicker after the team invested a sixth-round draft pick in the University of Florida product. While working behind Green Bay's offense, Smack should have have a chance to emerge as a fantasy streaming option as a rookie. McManus and Lucas Havrisik combined to record 123 points in 17 regular-season contests with the Packers last year.

  • Packers' Tucker Kraft: Ahead of schedule in recovery

Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst said Tuesday that Kraft (ACL) is "a little bit ahead of schedule" in his recovery from a right ACL tear and that both he and Micah Parsons (ACL) are expected to be "back early in the [regular] season," Andrew Bandstra of Channel 3000 News reports.

Gutekunst previously labeled Kraft ahead of schedule in mid-January, and it appears the tight end's progress has continued on an encouraging track. He noted that Kraft is further along in his rehab than Parsons, which makes sense considering the timing of their respective ACL tears (early Nov. vs. mid-Dec.). Kraft, meanwhile, has stated that he's targeting a Week 1 return. He's entering his age-26 season and the final year of his deal with the Packers, though Gutekunst has confirmed talks regarding an extension are underway. After Green Bay allowed Romeo Doubs to sign elsewhere as a free agent (Patriots) and dealt Dontayvion Wicks in a trade (Eagles), Kraft is facing a clearer path to targets alongside returning wideouts Christian Watson, Jayden Reed and Matthew Golden. In eight regular-season games prior to tearing his ACL in 2025, Kraft had emerged as Green Bay's leading receiver with 32 grabs for 489 yards and six scores on 44 targets.

  • Packers' Tyrod Taylor: Linking up with Packers

Taylor (knee) is signing a contract with the Packers, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports Monday.

Taylor last saw game action in Week 14 of the 2025 campaign for the Jets, with whom he made four starts in the second season of his two-year, $12 million contract prior to sustaining a knee injury. The 36-year-old quarterback has since recovered from that injury and slots in as the favorite to back up Jordan Love in a Packers quarterback room that also includes Kyle McCord and Kyron Drones.

  • Packers' Jaden Nixon: Headed to Green Bay

The Packers signed Nixon as an undrafted free agent Friday.

Nixon played for several colleges before closing out his career at UCF in 2025. The running back participated in 12 games, rushing 71 times for 554 yards and seven touchdowns. He also added 17 receptions for 88 receiving yards in that span. With Josh Jacobs locked in as the No. 1 option at running back, Nixon will battle with several other candidates in training camp to hold down a depth role on the roster.

  • Packers' RJ Maryland: Signs with Green Bay

The Packers signed Maryland as an undrafted free agent Friday.

Maryland started 32 games over four years for SMU, breaking the school's record for receiving yards by a tight end (1,495) despite missing time in 2024 with an ACL injury. The 21-year-old is a young, versatile option with strong upside as a pass catcher who can benefit from mismatches. The Packers already have a deep tight-end room, but Maryland may provide strong replacement value if the injury bug that plagued the 2025 corps reoccurs.

  • Packers' Kyron Drones: Green Bay signs quarterback

The Packers signed Drones as an undrafted free agent Friday.

Drones started his college career at Baylor, playing in seven games over two seasons before transferring to Virginia Tech in 2023, where he started the remainder of his collegiate games. The quarterback participated in 12 games in 2025, going 178-for-315 (56.5 percent) and accumulating 1,919 yards and 17 touchdowns to nine interceptions. Drones will have to outperform Desmond Ridder and Kyle McCord in training camp to have a shot at backing up Jordan Love during the 2026 NFL season.
